Christmas comes early to Barberton!
Fun for the whole family at Barberton High School on August 2. All in support of CMR.

Barberton is about to unwrap a mid-year celebration like no other: Christmas in August, complete with snow, neon lights, and good old-fashioned family fun! This community event, hosted on August 2 at Barberton High School, promises a festive winter’s day packed with activities and laughter, all while raising funds for the CMR (Christelike Maatskaplike Raad) office in Barberton.
Sponsored by Westvaal and Divergent Ops, the event kicks off from 09:00 and offers something for everyone, from toddlers to teens, parents to pensioners.
Want to know what is in Santa’s Winter Bag? Imagine a carnival filled with colourful stalls, glowing neon, frosty snow rooms, and giggling kids racing off on tractor rides. That’s just the beginning! Here’s what’s in store:
-Tractor rides | R5;
-mini-golf | 9 holes R20;
-snow room | 20 chilly minutes for just R15;
-go-karts | R5;
-treasure hunt (exciting prizes) | R15;
-jumping castles (all-day bouncing) | R15.
And for those who love a bit of friendly competition, the carnival games area will be a hit! Try your aim with:
-Shooting ducks;
-bow and arrow;
-shooting circles;
-10-pin bowling;
-battle sticks;
-throwing hoops;
-rocket fly;
-toss the ring.
Parents can also have a breather while the kids run wild. The beer tent is the perfect chill spot to catch up with friends, sip something cold, and soak in the festive vibe.
When the sun sets, the real magic begins. At 18:00, the Glow-in-the-Dark Run lights up Barberton with a burst of neon energy. For just R25 per person, join the glowing crowd in a fun run that wraps up the day in the most spectacular fashion.
All proceeds from this sparkling event will go toward the continued work of the CMR, supporting vulnerable families and children in the Barberton community.
Let’s make this Christmas in August one to remember. Bring your glowsticks, warm hearts, and festive spirit. See you in the snow!
