Umjindi’s DA candidates are advocating for its return as an independent municipality. Tomorrow, November 4, voters have their say on who will represent their community.
Water. Roads. Electricity. Municipal bills. Jobs. Safety. These are not luxuries. These are the everyday responsibilities of local government, and residents have every right to demand answers about how their money is spent and what services are delivered.
The DA candidates for Umjindi are:
- Ward 41: Bheki Mashile
- Ward 42: Philip Minnaar
- Ward 43: Lodewyk Jacobs
- Ward 44: Mpumi Moyana
- Ward 45: Mpilo Nkosi
Together, they have outlined ten commitments for Umjindi/Mbombela:
- Reliable service delivery to all: Consistent and dependable services for every resident.
- Cost-effective maintenance: Extending the lifespan of municipal assets while reducing costs.
- Infrastructure upgrades: Improving roads, facilities and utilities.
- Cost-effective infrastructure management: Ensuring maximum value and long-term sustainability.
- Clean, safe and regular water supply: Reliable access to safe water for every household.
- Safe environments and freedom of movement: Safer public spaces and well-maintained roads.
- Accurate and fair billing: Transparent billing based on fair tariffs and actual usage.
- No tender or construction mafia: Zero tolerance for corruption, collusion and tender manipulation.
- Business growth and sustainable jobs: Supporting local businesses, investment and employment.
- A business-friendly administration: Streamlined processes and incentives to encourage economic growth.
Umjindi's municipal independence
The candidates are also advocating for Umjindi's return to independent municipal status, including a professional viability study into reversing the Umjindi/Mbombela amalgamation, with particular attention to financial sustainability and service delivery.
Promises are easy. Accountability is what matters.
Tomorrow, November 4, you have the opportunity to help build a better Umjindi for all its residents.
YOUR VOTE. YOUR WARD. YOUR FUTURE.
