The annual Barberton Daisy Golf Tournament returned to the fairways of the Barberton Golf Club from October 1-4, welcoming 104 golfers from across South Africa. The Daisy, one of the Lowveld’s best-loved golf traditions, once again combined four days of competitive play with the friendly, festive atmosphere that keeps players coming back year after year.

The four-day event combines solid competition with the social pleasures that make the Daisy so special: good golf, lively prize-givings, and music until late. If was also a chance for players to catch up with familiar faces from clubs around the country. The tournament’s relaxed, friendly atmosphere, plus Barberton’s scenic course set against the Makhonjwa Mountains, keeps players returning year after year.

Locals and Lowveld golf followers cherish the Daisy’s long history. Recent coverage celebrated milestone editions (the 50th was widely reported in 2024), and the event is regularly described as one of the Lowveld’s longest-running open competitions. That history and continuity are part of the Daisy’s appeal. For many golfers it’s not just a week of golf but an annual reunion.

This year’s tournament marked another strong turnout as entries continue to grow after the pandemic years. Players praised the excellent condition of the Barberton Golf Club course and enjoyed a full social calendar that included lively prize-givings and the camaraderie that has become synonymous with the Daisy.

The 2025 Daisy once again proved that Barberton’s signature tournament is as much about friendship and community spirit as it is about golf. Congratulations to all the winners and participants, and here’s to another successful year ahead on the Barberton greens.
